For All

The Ocean is our greatest and best ally in the fight against the ongoing climate crisis and we must take care of it. However, to take care of the Ocean, it is fundamental that everyone has access to scientific knowledge and artistic content relating to it, without excluding anyone. We must all be involved in safeguarding the planet, and therefore we must all have the information and tools to do so.
Starting from these reflections, TBA21–Academy’s education department has initiated “Ocean for All”, an experimental program at Ocean Space that involves people both with and without disabilities, in inclusive experiential moments through tactile visits and visits in sign language.
“Thinking like the Ocean” is a series of three inclusive appointments for adults. The experiential visit to the new exhibition will take place in Italian and in Italian Sign Language (LIS) and will be led by a mediator together with a LIS interpreter. This will be followed by a laboratory and multisensory experience based on the close relationship between art and science.

Think like the Ocean
“Think like the Ocean” is a series of visits and workshops for adults and children closely connected to the new exhibition season at Ocean Space, designed for all audiences.
The new exhibition, "otras montañas, las que andan sueltas bajo el agua” [other mountains, adrift beneath the waves] curated by Yina Jiménez Suriel, highlights the power of improvisation~freestyle as an aesthetic tool and strategy capable of transcending terrestrial and extractivist perspectives on the planet. The series of activities aims to (re)think oneself in an ancestral way, both with and in the water.
The Ocean represents the origin of life in all its varied forms, but do we really know it through all the senses we possess?
Children aged 3 to 12 with the “Ocean Families” program, and adults with the “Ocean for All” program, will be guided in their journey through the new works with moments of exploration, discovery, and understanding of the multiple interactions of bodies of water in a fully inclusive way.
