On Friday September 22, from 3:30pm to 5pm, Ocean Space will open its doors to the educational community by inviting school leaders, teachers, and educators to participate in the presentation of our educational and training mission for the 2023/2024 academic year.
During the presentation, Valeria Bottalico, the educational activities coordinator at Ocean Space, will introduce the upcoming year of Ocean Schools, the permanent educational program at Ocean Space which consists of a series of training events for teachers and thematic courses for students.
Program
- 3:30pm: Introduction by Valeria Bottalico
- 3:45pm: Speech "Who will it be? Science in transformation" by Paola Vitale, teacher, author of picture books and science communicator.
An integrated playful-artistic setting conveys and sublimates a sense of wonder associated with scientific discovery. This is the premise of “Who will it be? - Science in transformation”, an approach based on experiential teaching with the aim of providing ideas and building learning scenarios for understanding the possible connections between scientific and artistic languages.
The canvas is provided by a course that encourages the search for points of contact, a legacy of the evolutionary process, between humans, animals, and their habitats.
The meeting explores the story of this multifaceted journey, made up of many discoveries, encounters, assonances and wonders that science, when amplified by art, can reveal.
- 4:30pm: guided tour of the exhibition “Thus waves come in pairs” with works by Simone Fattal, Petrit Halilaj & Álvaro Urbano.
