In May and September, we look forward to seeing you at Ocean Space for a series of workshops in collaboration with the Association Spazio Levante.
Through a series of morning practices, we bring body and voice movement to the stage by listening to their limits and exploring their depths.
VOICE FROM THE SEABED
Last appointment of the series of four workshops on choral singing.
Voice from the seabed is a series of four workshops to discover one's vocal ability through the dimension of collective sound. Providing the backdrop for the activity will be the reflection and message underlying the works of artists Latai Taumoepeau and Elisapeta Hinemoa Heta.
The workshop includes a dedicated time in each meeting for body perception and awareness, breathing, posture, and warming up the body and voice. Exercises will be conducted to "awaken" the rhythmic sense and collective intonation through refining mutual listening, which will merge with simultaneous self-listening. Different modes of vocal emission, voice overlapping and breath management will thus be explored.
In addition, each workshop will feature a moment dedicated to sharing stories on different themes, united by their connection to our deepest memories, as an ancestral dimension of our being. The themes will be - relative to each meeting - those of memory, intuition, instinct, and the dreamlike.
No musical prerequisites are required; booking is required.

Claudia Graziadei began her musical studies with jazz singing, first in Berlin then in Venice where she continued her studies with soprano Sabina Meyer, and in Vicenza graduating in Renaissance and Baroque singing. She participated in three productions of Baroque operas at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza and since 2017 has been a soloist with the Cappella Marciana della Basilica di San Marco in Venice. She worked as a soloist singer for Teatro Malibran in Venice and Teatro Mario Dal Monaco in Treviso for four opera productions. She sang from May to October 2019 within the 58th Venice Art Biennale, at the Golden Lion-winning Pavilion of Lithuania, in the opera-performance Sun&Sea (Marina) and was part of the cast involved in the opera's world tour. Together with contrabassist and producer Micha Kaplan she created the acoustic duo Micha and Claudia, which released their debut album Du Bist in 2020. Parallel to her performance activity, she has been undertaking choral singing workshops for adults, seniors and children, able-bodied and not. She holds two permanent courses in Venice at the Associazione Spazio Levante and Energym; she has worked at the Ludoteca La Cicala e la Formica in Cannaregio with a musical theater project for children; she collaborates with the inclusive training center Red Carpet for All in Dorsoduro as a choral singing teacher.
