On Wednesday, June 28, Ocean Space is hosting an evening dedicated to the Ocean and its protection, organized by Patagonia.
Our future on the planet is closely linked to that of the oceans. The seas are precious allies in the fight against climate change, and they are home to diverse, thriving lifeforms.
Trawling, however, seriously jeopardizes this delicate balance and threatens to destroy many marine ecosystems.
Join us for an evening dedicated to the people who fight for the conservation and protection of the seas, and who passionately show us how we can work together with the ocean, not against it.

GUESTS
Mariasole Bianco is an expert scientist in the conservation of the marine environment and a nature communicator. She collaborates as a consultant with institutions, the media, private companies, and non-governmental associations, and she is a national and international point of reference for her commitment to ocean conservation. She is co-founder and President of Worldrise, a non-profit association which, through creative projects, raises awareness around ocean protection, promotes the change our planet needs, and supports the professional training of the next generations.
Damiano Bertolotti is Patagonia's Community Marketing & Impact Manager for Southern Europe. Fueled by a great love for the outdoors, he coordinates all of Patagonia's marketing campaigns and environmental initiatives for Southern Europe. He also works with small non-profit organizations, believing that local change can inspire global action.
Raquel Gaspar is a marine biologist with a PhD, a post-doc in science communication, and she is a co-founder of Ocean Alive. Raquel began her education in marine biology and her professional experience working with international NGOs. She co-founded Ocean Alive in 2015 with the aim of protecting seagrass beds by engaging local women working in the fishing industry as leaders in ocean conservation.
Camilla Bertolini is a marine ecologist specializing in benthos, the organisms that inhabit the bottom of the sea. She holds a BA in Marine Biology and Coastal Ecology from the University of Plymouth (2012) and a PhD in Biological Sciences from Queen's University Belfast (2017) with a dissertation on mussel shoal restoration. She currently holds a Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral fellowship at Ca' Foscari University and is involved in native oyster restoration aquaculture.
